Freshwater Systems is an aquatic consulting service specialising in environmental issues in rivers, lakes and estuaries, primarily in Tasmania and mainland Australia.

FS commenced a collaborative relationship in research and education with the School of Zoology, University of Tasmania in 1993.
Projects & Environmental Contribution

FS employs Tasmanian scientists and support staff. The consultancy is managed and directed by its chief biologist Prof Peter Davies, who has more than 30 years experience working on freshwater projects in Tasmania, on mainland Australia, Indonesia and in France.

FS mission is to conduct both consulting and research, with a core philosophy of facilitating genuine environmental outcomes with quality scientific information.

FS international research links include researchers and projects in UK and South Africa (NRHP & RIVPACS research), Indonesia (Brantas project) and France (Wetland restoration project) with Prof Regis Cereghino at the Universite of Paul Sabatier, Toulouse. Collioure France.
